If you've been a student at Flinders for more than six months, want to help other students and boost your professional development, consider signing up to become a Flinders Friend.
The E-mentor Program is available for all new students studying offshore (not in Australia).
Starting uni offshore (outside Australia) can be exciting and challenging at the same time. While different time zones, potential internet connection issues are some of the prominent obstacles, other challenges may include lack of peer support, feeling isolated and unfamiliarity with University systems.
The E-mentor Program will pair you with an experienced student (E-mentor) and your E-mentor will support you through one-on-one online mentoring sessions. It is a 10 week mentoring program starting from week 2 of the semester.
Applications for joining the E-mentor Program are now closed.
Please note, we will try our best to match you with an E-mentor; however, it is not guaranteed due to limited resources and numbers of mentors in your study area. We will notify you the matching results and further detailed information.
Applications for Semester 2, 2022 E-mentors are now closed.
E-mentors are current students who will provide one-on-one peer support to commencing offshore international students to help them build connections and equip them with the knowledge and skills to navigate the university and educational system. E-mentors will help new students to experience a smooth transition to Flinders. If you have any further questions, please contact iss@flinders.edu.au.
