Our Mission
We embrace innovative knowledge and practice to tackle the challenges of our time, with a strategic focus on technology, health and social impact.
Whatever the course you’ve enrolled in, we pride ourselves on offering a supportive environment for students from all study areas. As you know, in many of our courses you can choose to study online, on campus, take a blended approach, and/or in some cases elect to do an intensive topic to fast-track your studies. Our academic and professional staff are passionate about helping you achieve your best during your study. We’re ready to help if you have any queries.
As a graduate of the college, you’ll walk away with professional qualifications, but also adaptive and critical thinking skills, be able to develop individual thought, respond to criticism, and be exposed to new technology and research, so you can thrive in your chosen career.

The College of Business, Government and Law (BGL) offers industry placements, industry projects and internships as you study. These experiences provide genuine work experience, enable you to put your newly acquired technical skills into practice, build your networks, and to use the experience as a recruitment pathway.
BGL industry placements are generally project-based and undertaken over a 10-week block. There are three main intakes during the year: between March and July, July and November or over the summer-time (between November and February) but these are negotiable.
You can check placement information for your study area, via the link below.
Business students can participate in industry projects. This means that you will work as a team to conduct research or develop a strategic recommendation for a business.
You will use the technical skills you’ve learnt at university so far, and apply them as a business consultant over a three month period.
Internships are normally a longer placement offered over three months. A longer timeframe allows you to gain a greater understanding of business needs and produce a fully developed project plan or strategic outcome.
To learn more contact the BGL WIL placement team.
Joining a Flinders University Student Association (FUSA) club is a great way to involve yourself in the University community and meet like-minded individuals who share the same hobby or passion. Not only does it provide a great break from study, joining a club expands your opportunities outside of the classroom and allows you to network with others in the same field of study. Below is a snapshot of the clubs that relate to the College of Business, Government and Law.
For a full list of clubs and associations, visit the FUSA website.
