Your Student ID card is an important part of life on campus.
You will use the same student ID card throughout your time at Flinders. Your student ID card will display whether you are a part-time or full-time student for the current Semester.
ID cards are an official, regulated form of identification, able to be used in governed identity checks, and each is fitted with a unique microchip technology connecting the user with the card. A card is issued upon commencement at the University to verify identity and ensure building and library access is restricted to the eligible user.
It is important to make sure you carry your student ID card whenever you are on campus as you will need it to:
*For after-hours access of the Central Library/Hub (before 8am and after 5pm on weekdays as well as weekend access), please visit on-campus security with your student ID card to get it updated. For any special building access requests, please submit Service One request.
From 9 July 2025, new student ID cards will display your preferred name, promoting a more inclusive and respectful campus environment.

You can order your student ID card online 1 month prior to the start of your classes by selecting ‘Order my ID Card’ from your Okta dashboard.

1. Collect these either in person at Flinders Connect (temporary location on Level 1 of the Library building, Bedford Park Campus) or City Campus.

To replace a lost or stolen card, you will need to place an order through our Flinders Online Payments system and choose to have your card posted to you or to collect it from Flinders Connect or City Campus. Please note that there is a $20 replacement fee associated with re-printing your ID card. Please bring your receipt and some photo ID with you if you choose to collect your card.
If you would like to have your photo updated prior to placing an order for a replacement ID card, please submit an Ask Flinders request with information regarding why you are providing a photo (e.g., Hi! I’m wanting to order a replacement ID card but before I do, could you please update my photo with the one attached?).
If your student ID card is damaged and requires replacing, please present the old card to Flinders Connect or City Campus for a replacement free of charge.
Free replacements are always available for cards that are outdated due to significant changes—such as gender transition and associated name change or a substantial change in appearance—where a new photo or updated details are necessary.
If you have a placement as part of your degree (such as Education, Nursing or Social Work) and require a placement badge, you can find instructions on how to order one here.
