Drop-in Sessions - recommencing 9 August 2022

If you would like further support with EndNote, we encourage you to attend one of our drop-in sessions (in-person or online). The sessions begin with a refresher on paraphrasing and referencing as these skills are essential to master (even if you plan to use EndNote!) This is then followed by a session on how to apply referencing and paraphrasing skills using EndNote.

You can attend the full two hours, or just drop-in for some of the session. The sessions are informal and designed to give you the opportunity to ask questions and to develop your paraphrasing, referencing, and EndNote skills.

You can learn more about the content in these sessions below:

Master Paraphrasing and Referencing

Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Time: 12pm – 1pm
Location: The Commons (Level 2 Central Library Bedford Park) or online via Microsoft Teams (use this link to join the session at the times listed).

This drop-in session will cover:

  • Defining referencing and paraphrasing and why these skills are important (even if you plan to use EndNote).
  • How to paraphrase.
  • Typical referencing formats and how to integrate these into your writing.
  • How to extract information to reference: e.g., book, chapter in a book, journal articles, webpages with author, webpages with organisation.

These sessions are informal, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout.

Using EndNote

Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Time: 1pm – 2pm
Location: The Commons (Level 2 Central Library Bedford Park) or online via Microsoft Teams (use this link to join the session at the times listed).

This drop-in session will cover:

  • How to use the EndNote software.
  • Applying your paraphrasing and referencing skills using EndNote.
  • Practising inserting citations and identifying errors from EndNote entries.

These sessions are informal, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout.

Please note: As mentioned above, EndNote drop in sessions are currently suspended for the mid-year break and will recommence (online and in-person) from Week 3, Semester 2 2022. In the meantime, if you have any EndNote related questions, you can email them to slss@flinders.edu.au
