As an undergraduate student here at Flinders University, it is possible to apply to transfer to most other undergraduate degrees by submitting an internal transfer application.
If you have studied at another institution and wish to transfer to Flinders, or the course is not available for internal transfer, or you wish to transfer from a postgraduate course (ie Graduate Certificate to a Graduate Diploma or Masters) you will need to apply via the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC).
International students

Domestic students
Applications for Semester 1, 2024 are now open
Applications are assessed on a continual basis, please check your email inbox regularly for updates on your application.
You should apply for your preferred course through this process if you:
- did not get an offer to your preferred course through SATAC and have since completed one semester of full-time equivalent study to be considered on your Grade Point Average;
- wish to combine your current Bachelor degree with an approved combined degree option;
- wish to transfer to a new version of your course if significant changes have been made or if it has been replaced by a new course.
All applications received will be assessed against the minimum academic requirements and any additional requirements to be met including topic pre-requisites, portfolio/audition etc for entry.
Flinderslink – guaranteed entry
Flinderslink is a guaranteed entry scheme for current Flinders University students who achieve the required Grade Point Average in one full-time equivalent semester of study or more and want to transfer to another course. This is a good option if you don’t get your first preference or if you decide to change career direction. Any additional requirements also need to be met.
Combining your degree
Combining your degree is a great way to pursue multiple passions and broaden your career opportunities. A combined degree gives you an advantage for employment in competitive and rapidly changing workplaces, both in Australia and overseas.
If you want to study an approved combined degree option you can apply through the internal transfer process.
Course specific internal transfer information
If you successfully complete the Flinders Foundation Studies program, you can apply to transfer to your preferred course.
While selection for most courses is competitive, entry is guaranteed into some courses.
Students who are currently admitted to a Bachelor degree, can apply to complete a second study area within the Bachelor of Letters. Consisting of only 36 units, the course is normally studied part-time over three years thus adding one extra year to your overall program of study.
Specialisations are available in:
- Creative Writing
- History
- Mathematics
- Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL).
This pathway is no longer offered from 2023.
Applicants should apply for the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Vision Science) / Master of Optometry through SATAC (South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre).
Students wishing to apply for an Education degree must submit a Teaching Capabilities Statement with your application.
Direct applications for this course are open for:
1) applicants who will be completing the course in Sydney or Melbourne; or
2) applicants who wish to transfer from a Flinders course to this course; or
3) applicants who have completed at least one semester of full-time study in one of the following Flinders courses:
- Bachelor of Information Technology (Digital Media)
- Bachelor of Media Arts
- Bachelor of Creative Industries (Interactive Design)
If the above is not relevant to you, you are required to apply for the course via SATAC.
Applicants applying for the Sydney or Melbourne course will need to select the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Effects and Entertainment Design) at Bedford Park when applying. They will be able to enrol into the Sydney and Melbourne topics after receiving an offer.
