Book launch for the Creative PhD: Challenges, Opportunities, Reflection keyboard_arrow_up

Come to celebrate the launch of The Creative PhD: Challenges, Opportunities, Reflection book and meet the authors: Tara Brabazon, Tiffany Lyndall-Knight and Natalie Hills.

Tara Brabazon is the Dean of Graduate Research and Professor of Cultural Studies at Flinders University, Australia. She is also a columnist for the Times Higher Education.

Tiffany Lyndall-Knight is an Actor, Director and Teaching Artist. Her PhD exegesis was awarded the 2019 Flinders University Vice Chancellor's Award for Doctoral Thesis Excellence.

Natalie Hills is HDR Examinations Coordinator at Flinders University, Australia. She has held professional positions in the university sector for 15 years.

See the posters and meet the HDR students behind them in the Poster Viewing Session. This is a great opportunity to gain a visual snapshot of leading-edge research in topics as diverse as detecting amplitude modulation in wind farms, to leading transformative education and sediment fingerprinting.

R U OK? Day is part of a national suicide prevention campaign that seeks to encourage a conversation about how those around us, such as our colleagues, friends and family, are feeling. By asking someone in a meaningful way if they are OK, you can actually make a very big difference to those who may be struggling with mental or emotional ill-health.

To close DocFest we will be hosting a closing ceremony for HDR students, supervisors and industry partners at the Alere Function Centre.

We will also be announcing the winners of the poster presentations and Tweet your PhD!   

HDR poster competition

Be proud of your higher degree by research studies at Flinders University. The HDR Poster Competition will assist students to develop their communication skills, prepare an academic or infographic poster they can use in future conference presentations and provide an opportunity to present their poster in a conference type environment, responding to questions.

HDR students have the choice of taking part in only the Poster Competition, or also taking part in the Poster Presentations where they will present a two minute pitch on their poster, and answer a few questions about their research.

Posters will be displayed in the Alere function space throughout the week, and there are prizes for the best poster and best presentation. Come along to check out the posters and vote for your favourite one.
