Research is the foundation for innovation, but research in and of itself is only the first step. Dissemination is key. This award recognises the best of our research higher degree students and their transformative scholarship.
This annual programme demonstrates Flinders University's commitment to high quality research dissemination. We celebrate the Best HDR Student Publications through these awards.
The Best HDR Student Publication is an initiative of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research).
Awards will be made to students selected by each College. The value of each award will be $1,000.
Must be a HDR student of Flinders University with an enrolment status of Enrolled, Leave of Absence or Under Examination as at the date the call for submissions is sent out.
• The publication must be based on research conducted during, and be a part of, the HDR program.
• The Applicant must be the first (or sole) author of the publication.
• The publication must have Flinders University as the Applicant’s affiliation.
• The student must have a valid ORCiD ID (if you don’t have an ORCiD ID read more here and please register here.)
Students should submit one publication to their Dean (Research):
• Each College will establish its own internal deadline for submissions.
• Each submitted publication will be reviewed according to a general review process (judging criteria below).
• Each College will select its winner(s).
• Winners will be submitted by the College to the Pro Vice-Chancellor Research (Training and Capabilities) and Dean of Graduate Research via email to hdr.progression@flinders.edu.au on or before 5pm on 6 December 2024.
• The Pro Vice-Chancellor Research (Training and Capabilities) and Dean of Graduate Research will award the ‘Best HDR Student Publication’ at an appropriate celebration.
Publication Criteria:
• The publication must be a peer-reviewed journal article (in a Q1 journal), a refereed conference paper, a refereed book chapter (not book reviews), or an authored refereed book.
