Exchange and Study Abroad

Flinders students

Eligible Flinders students can apply to participate in an outbound exchange or study abroad program at a range of partner institutions overseas. To assist with the cost of travel and living expenses, a range of study assistance packages, scholarships and OS‑HELP funding may be available for eligible students. Incoming student exchange

Incoming student exchange allows students who are currently enrolled at a university outside Australia, and where an exchange agreement with Flinders University exists, to study at Flinders for one or two semesters. Students remain enrolled at their home institution and receive credit towards their degree upon return.

Study abroad program (fee-paying)

The study abroad (fee‑paying) program allows currently enrolled or eligible students from outside Australia to study full time at Flinders University for one or two semesters and earn credit towards their degree at their home institution. This option is available to students whose home university does not have an exchange agreement with Flinders.

Topic enrolment

Students undertaking an inbound exchange or study abroad semester program are required to apply to the Global Experience team for pre‑approval of their proposed topics or courses. Once approved by the Global Experience team, Enrolment Services will add the approved topics to the student’s study plan. Changing topics at Flinders

If you wish to change any of your pre‑approved and enrolled topics during your exchange or study abroad program, you must submit an Ask Flinders support request. Please list the topics you no longer wish to study and clearly identify the new topics you are requesting. Enrolment Services will seek the required approvals on your behalf and, if approved, update your study plan accordingly.
