If you do not have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) you will need to create a USI before completing your degree/award.
Once you have your Unique Student Identifier (USI), you will need to update your USI details in the Student System.
To update your USI please follow the instructions below:
A USI is your individual Australian education number that you will have for life. It creates an online record of your Australian education and training achievements.
Your name will be printed on your testamur (certificate), academic transcript and Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS), exactly as it appears in the Student System and the USI registry system.
If your formal name is incorrect, you will need to update it. Please ensure your formal name is correct in preparation for conferral, as replacement fees will incur if not updated in time.
The formal name is what is used to be read out on stage at your graduation ceremony.
Your formal name can be updated at any time and you do not need to wait for the deadline to start the process. The earlier you can update your details, the better!
If you would like to attend a graduation ceremony, please fill in the phonetic name field in the Student System. Your phonetic name is what the ceremony reader will use to help with the pronunciation of your name when you are called on stage.
Example: Stephen Damon Smith is "Stee-ven Day-mon Smith"
Phonetic name is writing your first and last names as they sound, not as they are written.
Please check your address in the Student System, and ensure you have nominated the correct 'preferred address'.
We will use your preferred address to send any documents, such as your testamur, to you.
