Congratulations - You've completed your course!
Conferral is the official awarding of your degree/award by the University.
All students are automatically conferred after completion and your degree/award will be allocated a conferral date which will appear on your documents.
Upon allocation of a conferral date, you will receive confirmation from Graduation Services asking you to follow the steps below.
Please also see Important Information at the end of this page regarding checking your completion status and eligibility dates.
Once allocated a conferral date, you must select your preference regarding attending a Graduation Ceremony.
To register your preference to attend a Graduation Ceremony in the Student System:
Your testamur is your official certificate, or A3 parchment, issued when your degree/award has been conferred.
All graduates are entitled to one free paper copy of their testamur. Please note that your testamur (paper or digital) cannot be issued before your allocated conferral date.
Choose this option to attend your eligible Graduation Ceremony and receive your testamur on stage when your name is read out.
Graduation Ceremonies are held in April and December each year.
By selecting this option you will receive notification from Graduation Services when the Graduation Booking Portal is open for registrations.
Choose this option to attend your eligible Graduation Ceremony for multiple awards and receive all testamurs on stage when your name is read out.
Your 'Second Award' will be presented following the award you selected for the 'Attending' option.
Graduation Ceremonies are held in April and December each year.
By selecting this option you will receive notification from Graduation Services when the Graduation Booking Portal is open for registrations.
Choose this option to attend the Graduation Ceremony in Darwin (if eligible) and receive your testamur on stage when your name is read out.
To be eligible to attend in Darwin, you must be a:
Northern Territory Medicine Program students (NTMP) will be invited automatically and are not required to update their details in the Student System.
Choose this option if you do not want to attend your eligible Graduation Ceremony and have your testamur sent to you via postage.
Choose this option if you do not want to attend your eligible Graduation Ceremony and collect your testamur from Flinders Connect.
Collection is available Tuesdays - Fridays only (not Mondays):
Choose this option if you do not want to attend your eligible Graduation Ceremony and have someone collect your testamur on your behalf from Flinders Connect. Ensure your nominated person (Agent) presents some photo identification when collecting.

Choose this option if you do not want to attend your eligible Graduation Ceremony and do not require a paper copy of your testamur. You will still receive your digital testamur via the My eQuals platform.
Choose this option to attend the next Graduation Ceremony you are eligible for and receive your testamur on stage when your name is read out.
Graduation Ceremonies are held in April and December each year.
Graduates will have 12 months from their conferral date to attend a ceremony.
By selecting this option you will receive notification from Graduation Services when the Graduation Booking Portal is open for registrations.
No option has been selected in the Student System regarding attending a Graduation Ceremony or how to receive your testamur.
By not selecting an option, you will not receive any notification from Graduation Services regarding registering for a Graduation Ceremony.
The Student System is Flinders’ main student administrative system.
You will have access to self-select your preference in the Student System for 12 months from your conferral date. After this time, self-selection will no longer be available.
You may contact Graduation Services (graduation@flinders.edu.au) to update your preference if you no longer have access.
If you have outstanding debts owing to the University (sanctions), your degree/award will still be conferred.
However, your paper testamur, digital testamur, academic transcript and Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) will not be released until all sanctions have been paid or instalment plans have been finalised. These sanctions are not limited to the course of study you wish to graduate with, they will also be applied for post graduate courses you are currently enrolled in.

Payments will take up to 15 minutes to process, and sanctions may take up to 24 hours to be removed. If you require your sanction to be removed prior to this, please submit an Ask Flinders request and attach a copy of your payment receipt.
Please note: requests can only be processed if a copy of your receipt is attached.
Once your college has reviewed your studies and determined your degree/award has been completed, you will be marked as passed and your unofficial transcript will be updated with the following statement:
“Completed the requirements for (degree) on (date)”

Completion between: the date range your degree/award may have been completed by your College in the Student System.
College Completion Deadline: the date you MUST be completed by your College in the Student System to be allocated to the next conferral date.
Conferral date: the official date that will appear on your Graduation documents.
Conferral dates are administrative only and do not relate to Graduation ceremony dates
My eQuals Digital Documents issued between: the date range you will receive your digital documents, including your testamur, academic transcript and Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS).
Excluding transcripts, Graduation documents cannot be issued, generated, collected or posted before your conferral date. Please do not purchase a digital documents package if you are about to be conferred, as you will automatically receive a set free of charge
Graduation Ceremony Eligibility: the Graduation Ceremony you will be eligible to attend. Graduates who choose 'Attending' or 'Ceremony Postpone' in the Student System will be contacted about how to register.
