What do the important dates mean to you?

Completion: The date range your degree/award may have been completed by your College.

Update details: Your details need to be up to date in the Student System.

Conferral date: The date that will appear on your Graduation documents.

My eQuals: The final date you will receive your digital Graduation documents, including your testamur, academic transcript and Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS).

Ceremony eligibility: The ceremony periods you will be eligible for. Graduates who choose attending or ceremony postpone in the below steps will be contacted about attending a ceremony.

Step 4: Attendance options

Once allocated a conferral date, you will be able to select whether you want to  attend a graduation ceremony or not via the Student System. You will be notified once a conferral date has been allocated. You will have access to self-select in the Student System 12 months from your completion date, after this time self-selection will no longer be available.

Whether you plan to attend a Graduation Ceremony or receive your testamur in absence (not attending), an option needs to be selected in the Student System.

However, please be aware that once you choose a not attending option for postage, collection or collection by agent, you will not be able to attend a graduation ceremony for this degree/award at any time in the future.

Not advised

An attendance option has not yet been chosen.

Attending

Choose this option to attend the next graduation ceremony you are eligible for.

The degree/award that you select the attending option for will be the cohort you cross the stage with at the graduation ceremony.

Registration for the December Graduation Ceremonies has now closed. Choosing a status of attending will now mean that you are contacted to attend the April 2023 Graduation Ceremonies.

Attending – Second award

Choose this option if you are completing two degrees/awards and would like to receive both testamurs at your graduation ceremony.

Please be aware that if you are attending Graduation for multiple degrees/awards, you will attend one ceremony to receive both testamurs.

Registration for the December Graduation Ceremonies has now closed. Choosing a status of attending will now mean that you are contacted to attend the April 2023 Graduation Ceremonies.

Attending - Darwin

Choose this option to attend the next graduation ceremony in Darwin 2023.

To be eligible to attend the Darwin graduation ceremony, you must be a:

  • Northern Territory Medicine Program student (NTMP), or
  • Northern Territory resident, or
  • Northern Territory resident returning home.

Northern Territory Medicine Program students (NTMP) will be invited automatically and are not required to update their details in the Student System.

Registration for the 2022 Darwin Graduation Ceremony has now closed.

Ceremony postpone

Choose this option if you would like to attend a graduation ceremony but are unable to attend the next available ceremony.

Your ceremony will be postponed to the next ceremony period. Graduates will have 12 months from their conferral date to attend a ceremony.

Choosing a status of ceremony postpone will now mean that you are contacted to attend the December Graduation Ceremonies in 2023.

Not attending - Postage

Choose this option to have your testamur posted to your preferred address. Testamurs are sent after your allocated conferral date, which you are able to view in the Student System.

Postage fees apply, please refer to receiving your testamur.

Not attending - Collection

Choose this option to collect your testamur from Flinders Connect at Bedford Park campus.

Collection bookings will be available after your allocated conferral date, which you are able to view in the Student System.

To book your collection date, please refer to receiving your testamur.

Not attending – Collection agent

Choose this option to nominate a friend or family member to collect your testamur from Flinders Connect at Bedford Park campus.

Collection bookings will be available after your allocated conferral date, which you are able to view in the Student System.

Your friend or family member will need to provide photographic identification upon collection.

To book your collection date, please refer to receiving your testamur.

Not Attending - Testamur not required

Choose this option if you would prefer NOT to receive a copy of your physical testamur.

Choosing this option will not prevent you from receiving your digital testamur via My eQuals.

Step 5: Choose how to receive your testamur

Your testamur is your official certificate, or parchment, from the University. It is issued after your degree/award has been conferred.

Students allocated a conferral date have access for 12 months to self-select via the Student System:

  1. Log on to the Student System
  2. Select the 'My Graduation' tab
  3. Choose your graduation attendance option (see below for details).

Access the Student System

If you no longer have access, please view step 6 on receiving your testamur.

All students must be conferred in order to receive their testamur and digital Graduation documents via My eQuals.

What is the Student System?

The Student System is Flinders’ main student administrative system.

Step 6: Check for outstanding debts

If you have outstanding debts owing to the University (sanctions), your degree/award will still be conferred.

However, your paper testamur, digital testamur, academic transcript and Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) will not be released until all sanctions have been paid or instalment plans have been finalised. These sanctions are not limited to the course of study you wish to graduate with, they will also be applied for post graduate courses you are currently enrolled in.

To view sanctions please follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to the Student System
  2. Select 'My Finances'
  3. Select 'View Sanctions'
  4. View your sanction and follow the instructions

Payments take up to three (3) business days to process. If you would like the sanction removed prior to this, please submit an Ask Flinders request asking for the sanction to be removed and attach a copy of your payment receipt. Requests can only be processed if a copy of your receipt is attached.

Step 7: Receiving your testamur

There are three (3) ways in which to receive your testamur; at a graduation ceremony; collection from Flinders Connect; or by post.

Choosing to attend a graduation ceremony will mean that your testamur is awarded to you at your ceremony.

If you do not wish to attend a graduation ceremony, your testamur will be made available from your allocated conferral date which you are able to view in the Student System. Important to note you will not be able to attend a graduation ceremony for the same award at any time in the future.

Graduates will receive access to digital versions of their documents via My eQuals which will include a testamur, official academic transcript and Australia Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS).

Graduation ceremony

Choosing to attend a graduation ceremony will mean that your testamur is presented to you on graduation day.
