If you are a new higher education student, or are commencing a new course, you will need a Unique Student Identifier (known as a USI) to be eligible for a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) and Commonwealth financial assistance (HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP, OS-HELP or SA HELP). You must apply for a USI online and provide it to Flinders prior to your first Census date.
From 1 January 2023, all higher education students, including those that commenced prior to 2021, must have a USI in order to graduate and receive their testamur. Therefore, even if you do not plan to seek Commonwealth support or assistance, it is recommended you follow the the quick and easy process of applying for a USI online and provide it to Flinders. This includes international students and Higher Degree by Research students.
