Sustainable Tourism Development Malaysia Program

This immersive, two-week experience in Malaysia offers students interdisciplinary workshops designed to build knowledge and raise awareness of environmental and social challenges in Southeast Asia. Participants will explore diverse urban and remote settings, including Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Kota Bharu, and Royal Belum State Park. Workshops will cover topics such as conservation and biodiversity protection, cultural heritage and community engagement, adventure tourism (including kayaking and hiking), and sustainable development.

If you are an international student, permanent resident or do not meet the eligibility for an NCP Grant, you may still participate and be offered an RA Simpson Scholarship AUD $500 (conditions apply). If you are a Post-Graduate, commonwealth-supported student, you are eligible to apply for OS-HELP up to AUD $9,504 (conditions apply).

Program Costs (Indicative)
The program cost is AUD $1,550 which includes a non-refundable deposit of AUD $250. The cost for Australian undergraduate citizens can be offset by an AUD $2,000 New Colombo Plan grant and OS-HELP up to $9,504 (conditions apply).

All students participating in this program will be covered by the university’s travel insurance. Please note, this cover is limited. It is advised that you read the Flinders University Travel and Insurance schedule of benefits before you go, know what is covered and what is not covered.
