Professional placements are important learning experiences, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in a supported professional setting. Engagement with industry enables students to develop vocational skills helping prepare them for the work environment while working towards competency requirements of Nutrition professionals. Placements provide opportunities for students to engage in relevant work in the real world producing valuable outcomes for industry and themselves.
Preparation for placement includes completing pre-placement compliance checks. This includes appropriate immunisations, online training, screening checks as well as mental preparation for the professional work environment. Students need to ensure they are prepared well ahead of placement commencing.
The links below provide further information on preparing for a work integrated experience for each Nutrition course.
