Flinders Support Network

The Flinders Support Network is here to make sure you find and can access the wide variety of academic, financial and wellbeing support available to help you.

Given the uncertain times we are facing due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it’s important now, more than ever, to reach out and use this support if you need it.

If you would like a Flinders staff member to contact you to provide more information about the support available, please complete this brief Flinders Support Network questionnaire (only takes a minute). Someone from the Student Experience team will be in contact within a few days.

Flinders Learning Online - FLO support

Most topics supply learning materials online via Flinders Learning Online (FLO). It’s where you access assignment guidelines, submit your assignments, chat to each other on topic discussion boards, complete quizzes, view lecture recordings, receive communication from your topic coordinators and more. The use of FLO varies from topic to topic. Your topic coordinator should make this clear to you.

You can
log in to FLO here or access via Okta.

If you need help using FLO, we suggest you take a look at the
FLO help pages. If you can’t find what you need here, you can call the FLO Helpdesk on 1300 354 633 (select option 3) during business hours, or email flo.student@flinders.edu.au for staff assistance.

We are all in this together – study online like a boss!

We know that getting used to study during this weird time in the world can be really hard. Feeling uncertain is normal. But feeling uncertain doesn't mean that you can't do this - you can! To help you study online  join our new Student Learning Advisor Dr Lauren Butterworth as she guides you through online study in our new video series "....like a Boss". Over the next few weeks we are going to be bringing you lots of support through the Like a Boss videos, to help you as you adapt and adjust. Watch the video by clicking the image or visit our student blog.

12 clips to entertain and distract you!

Have you watched all of the internet? Are you endlessly scrolling to the end of streaming websites and then giving up? We thought we’d put together a range of different clips for staff and students. Hopefully you fall down a new youtube rabbit-hole or maybe you just need to see Lizzo play the flute (you do) or watch an hour of 6 second vine clips. You know, to keep healthy. Also there’s a yoga one if you’re into that (there’s a dog in it). Read more.

FUSA Development Grants - Special 'Online Activities' Round Now Open!

Have you heard FUSA Development Grants are re-opening for this Semester?! They're awarded for amounts up to $800 and you can apply whenever you’re ready. While we can’t cover travel or in-person events, we CAN help cover things like online professional development opportunities. So maybe there’s an online training or leadership workshop that takes your fancy? There are still ways to learn and make a difference to your studies and career! For more information, pay us a virtual visit.

Urgent citizenship information

The Department of Home Affairs has advised that due to the large number of ceremonies that have recently been cancelled due to COVID-19, that where a student has had their scheduled citizenship ceremony cancelled, assistance will be provided, where possible, to schedule a urgent ceremony for them.

Students whose citizenship ceremonies have been cancelled can complete a
Request for an Urgent Citizenship Ceremony form, and send it to the Department of Home Affairs.
