What is a supplementary exam and how do I know if I have one? If you fail a topic and receive a mark between 45% to 49%, you ll automatically be awarded a supplementary exam. This gives you a second chance to pass the topic. Supplementary exam(s) will be indicated on your topic results in the Student System (e.g. F/A). You ll also be notified by email. In Semester One, the supplementary exam period is 22 to 27 July. The supplementary examination timetable will be released on Saturday 20 July. (Note: some supplementary exams held by the Topic Coordinator or College may be scheduled outside of these dates. You will be notified if this is the case). Good luck to the students heading to the World Uni Games! Congratulations and good luck to the Flinders University athletes that have been selected to participate in the World University Games next month in Naples, Italy! Students Jack Rossiter and Emma Adams comprise two of the five-person Australian shooting team, giving Flinders fantastic representation in the event. Riley Cocks rounds out the Flinders contingent - previously finishing in eighth place in the Men s 10,000m running event, he has his sights set on bettering that result and will also compete in the half marathon this year. Woo hoo! Mr Wuhu Sushi to open soon at Bedford park Who wants quick, tasty, healthy sushi? We heard you and in response to your requests, we re bringing Mr Wuhu sushi to campus. From Semester 2, you can check out our newest retailer. You ll be able to choose from sushi hand rolls and specialist sushi, as well as yummy rice bowls. Don t study on an empty stomach! Get FREE meals and snacksIf you re at Bedford Park, stop by the FUSA front desk (Level 1 of the Student Hub, map ref J10) after 11am to pick up an instant meal. You can use the microwaves in the Library or the ground level of the Hub to heat them up. The instant meals will be made available through the exam period until they run out. They also have snacks available to help you get you through!*You can also get an emergency food parcel if you need it. Ask the staff at FUSA how. |

Improve your fitness in just 10 weeksIf you don t exercise regularly, but would like to improve your fitness, consider participating in the 10-week Revitalised Program. The program is an innovative partnership between Flinders University Sport and Fitness and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. It includes assessments and individual training under supervised Exercise Sports Science students. Cost: $199 (or 10 x $19.90 weekly payments). You ll also get a free three-month Flinders University Sport and Fitness membership to continue your progress after the program finishes. Places are limited. Determine your eligibility here. |

Indonesia study tour application deadline extended to 9 AugustUndergraduate and Honours students with an interest in the Indo-Pacific region are invited to apply for one of fifty $3,000 New Colombo Plan Mobility grants to take part in the Linking Indonesian and Australian Cultures: Professional and Indigenous study tour. To be held in Yogyakarta, Makassar and Jakarta, Indonesia from approximately 22 or 23 November to 7 December 2019, the tour will help students develop an understanding of Indonesia and its culture, along with Indo-Pacific workspace competencies. Chinese-speaking volunteers sought for SALA bilingual art toursSouth Australian Living Arts (SALA) Festival bilingual art tours welcome Chinese and English-speaking audiences. At the tours, visitors will see the exhibits and be introduced to the ideas behind the creation of the artworks. Bilingual tours are conducted over the weekends of the festival and facilitated by an incredibly dedicated group of bilingual tour guides.
If you speak Chinese and English fluently, you re encouraged to join the volunteer SALA bilingual art tours team. Successful volunteer tour guides will have a passion for art and commitment to the role. This volunteering opportunity is perfect for those interested in learning local culture, meeting new friends and extending networks for future careers. Volunteers will receive induction training, as well as a special SALA hoodie and signed certificate. Read more. |
