The information on this page is to be read in addition to the placement information for all postgraduate nursing students.
Students must complete 192 hours of placement (2 shifts/week x 12 weeks) over the semester at their workplace (Work Integrated Learning Placement). Students must complete compulsory pre-placement compliance and have their clinical manager complete the placement form to demonstrate they will be supported at their workplace for the placement duration.
Suitable areas for placement include:
- Intensive care
- Critical care
Students must be employed in the clinical specialist setting to complete the placement topic. If you do not have the appropriate employment to undertake this work-integrated learning placement, please contact your topic coordinator immediately.
Facilitation
In addition to support from the employer, the student will be assigned a clinical facilitator throughout your work-integrated learning placement.
