You can search for scholarships at any time to see which ones you are eligible for, and you are able to apply for scholarships once you have enrolled at Flinders. Make sure you check the scholarship eligibility criteria and rules carefully as you will only be considered if you meet all of the criteria. Scholarship rules and eligibility criteria can be found in the scholarships database. Before applying for a scholarship, make sure you have all of your supporting documentation in order.
Financial hardship
To be eligible under this category, at the time of application you must either be:
Indigenous Australian
For students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you may be required to confirm Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander identity through:
Regional and remote areas
This category applies if you live or have lived* in a regional and remote area of Australia as determined by the Australian Standard Geographical Classification Remoteness Areas Locator.
* If you have moved from a regional or remote area to a Metropolitan area in order to complete High School or commence University studies, you may still be considered under this category.

External (non-Flinders) scholarships
All scholarships will have eligibility criteria which will be used to determine which applications advance to be assessed. The eligibility criteria will be clearly stated on the Scholarship page and within the scholarship rules.
Quotas
Some scholarships may have sub-quotas available to specific student groups. Where this is the case, this will be stated on scholarship page and/or the scholarship rules.
Quotas can be used where scholarship applicants come from differing pathways, or to ensure that students from different Colleges have access to scholarships that are open to multiple Colleges or University wide.
Ranking and Assessment
Scholarship applicants who do not meet all the required criteria will be deemed to have failed the initial assessment and will be made unsuccessful. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised of this as soon as possible.
Applications that meet all eligibility criteria will then be ranked according to the selection criteria described on our webpage and outlined in the scholarship rules.
Selection
Selection may be undertaken by a delegated officer or a selection committee, convened for the purpose.
Participants in any selection process who have an actual, perceived or potential conflict of interest will be required to declare this prior to any selection decision. Where this arises, the matter will be managed under the University’s Conflict of Interest Policy.
