Pride engagement
Flinders University is committed to providing a work and study environment that is characterised by equality, respect and collegiality.
Throughout the month of October, Flinders will be acknowledging LGBTQIA+ History Month. In Australia, the month is celebrated in October to coincide with National Coming Out Day on 11 October.
As a visible acknowledgement of our ongoing commitment and understanding to the sexual and gender diversity within our community, the stairs next to the Library at Bedford Park have been now adorned with the colours of pride.
The University community are invited to submit their suggestions for inclusive words and phrases that will be added to the stairs in early November.
If you would like to be involved, please share your suggestion below.
An initiative designed to enhance university culture by creating a more welcoming and inclusive environment for members of the Flinders community who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTQIA+).
