FREE bootcamp - no strings attached! Want to increase your fitness and meet other students at the same time? Then join the FREE Flinders Uni bootcamp every Tuesday and Thursday from 7am to 8am during semester. Meet at 6.55am at the Flinders University Sport and Fitness centre (map ref K11). Be sure to bring a drink and a towel with you. ALL students are welcome to attend ??? you don???t need to be a gym member. Attend 10 times and get a free drink bottle, 20 times for a free keep cup and coffee and 40 times for a member t-shirt! |

Flinders Living - applications for Semester 2 now open Ever thought about living on campus at Bedford Park? There are plenty of reasons to. Want to learn about art?Did you know the Flinders University Art Museum boasts the largest art collection in the state, outside of the South Australian Art Gallery? Students can visit the Art Museum (located at the Bedford Park campus map ref G8) daily between 12noon and 2pm.To familiarise students with the Museum works, a series of free 20-minute talks are being held with prominent artists over the coming months. The next one is with South Australian artist Christine Goodwin who will discuss her satirical socio-political series First Australian Expo of Panaceas. Free evidence-based palliative and end-of-life resourcesResearchers in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences have developed free online resources about palliative care and end-of-life care, available to students. The resources are relevant to students studying a health-related course, as well as any students with a family member or friend affected by the need for palliative care. Read more. |

Celebrating student scholarship successA strong calibre of Flinders students received well-deserved recognition at the recent Playford Trust Scholarship ceremony. PhD students Andrea Bertram and Nick Booth were each awarded a Playford Trust PhD scholarship worth $17,500. Eleven other Flinders students were awarded other Playford Trust scholarships designed to build South Australia???s capacity in strategic STEM areas. A huge congratulations to these students! Mental Health Week at FlindersMental Health Week is about providing you with the resources to best support your wellbeing. Today the team from FUSA and Oasis are in the Bedford Park Hub and Plaza until 2pm. Drop in for free tea (from the Mad Tea Co), succulent decorating, acoustic music, free food, and to chat with stallholders who can give you mental health information and freebies. Tomorrow, Thursday 2 May Mirror Mirror: Self-portrait workshops will be held from 12pm to 2pm at Bedford Park. Paint, decorate and collage a work of art to express your inner self! |

The forum will give you the opportunity to ask questions directly to University leadership about issues important to you.

Work regulations in AustraliaIt is essential you are aware of the work regulations in Australia, as they can be very different from those in your home country. In Australia the minimum wage is $18.93 per hour. You are also required to have tax file number and submit annual tax returns. If you plan on working while in Australia, please make sure you read this blog post about work rights, regulations and income tax.

We recommend you prepare a resume (also known as Curriculum Vitae or CV) to give to potential employers. A one-page resume is appropriate for casual jobs. Footy and BBQ event photos!Thanks to everyone who attended the International Student Services (ISS) footy and BBQ event with the Port Adelaide Football Club. A great day was had by all. First year student Rovi said ???It was a fun day ??? good to relax and meet students from different countries. I???d also never kicked a footy before today!??? You can see photos from the BBQ and footy day on the Ask Flinders Facebook page. The ISS team run events throughout the year for international students to meet each other and have fun.
