Election of Student Members of the University Council Nominations are invited for the election of one undergraduate student member and one postgraduate student member of the University Council. Council is the governing body of the University and is responsible for overseeing the management and development of the University, devising or approving strategic plans and major policies, and monitoring and reviewing the operation of the University. Learn Chinese Language with Kung Fu Panda Are you interested in learning Chinese? The Chinese Scholars & Students Association is offering free Chinese Tutorials in October. College of MPH Summer Research Awards - Applications now open Applications are now open for the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute (FHMRI) (within the College of Medicine and Public Health) Undergraduate Student Summer Research Awards. Awards recipients will have a hands-on learning experience in a supportive, real-life research environment within FHMRI. For more information, including eligibility requirements, research projects on offer, and how to apply visit the scholarships webpage. Intending applicants are encouraged to contact potential supervisors before submitting an application. Applications close Monday 21 October 2019. Late applications will not be accepted. Awards are open to students from all colleges. |

Increase the security of your FAN account Flinders takes the security of FAN accounts very seriously, for your own identity protection and for the protection of University information. To increase security, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is being introduced for all students. MFA uses a smartphone app (Okta Verify) to occasionally ask you to verify your login to Okta. MFA will become mandatory for all students by the end of 2019, so activate MFA for your account now! For more information see the MFA webpage. You’ve found the winning article. Free yoga run by Flinders University Sport and FitnessThroughout October, and the first week in November, Flinders One Sport and Fitness are offering students FREE yoga sessions in the Studio behind Grind & Press cafe at Bedford Park (map ref J10). Sessions start at 5.15pm and each run for one hour.

Free tickets available! Calling final year allied health* students. Join this Flinders alumni networking breakfast on Wednesday 30 October from 7.30am to 9am in the Adelaide CBD to hear about future directions in your profession, learn tips from the pros and network with graduates. The guest speaker is Catherine Turnbull, Chief Allied and Scientific Officer at SA Health. You’ll also get to hear from Flinders graduates who run successful allied health businesses. If you would like to attend please email your student ID, full name and degree through to Alumni Partner Jane Russell by 5pm Friday 18 October. Managing your physical and mental health
If you feel unwell while studying, did you know the University offers a free health service on campus? You can book an appointment, on campus with a doctor by calling 8201 2118 or online. Flinders also offers a confidential counselling service and support for students with a disability. Visit the Health, Counselling and Disability services webpage to find out more. |

SpringFest 19 – this weekend You're invited to Spring into Flinders at Spring Fest 2019 this weekend! Flinders has partnered with Nature Play SA to cultivate a packed program of free activities and experiences for the whole family to enjoy. Activities include: two stages hosting award-winning musicians, performing artists and science experiments, Liz Calahan's dance classes, one of SA’s best-loved clowns Frehd, Bubble Gum Markets, cubby house building, and more.
