Climate change rally Are you passionate about climate change? Then you may know about the School Strike 4 Climate Change movement. The National Union of Students (NUS) are inviting students to attend the Adelaide leg of their national rally (Friday, 9 August). If you're attending, check your Topic guides or have a chat to your teachers to make sure you're not missing anything pivotal and can catch up on what you miss in class. |

Last day to enrol – this Friday This Friday is the last day to enrol in Semester 2 topics. It’s also the due date to pay upfront student contribution amounts, tuition fees and student services and amenities fees. If you are yet to enrol in all your topics visit the Enrolment Support Centre or call 1300 354 633 if you need help to do this. *Payment due dates are shown on your Fee Account, available in the Student System (via Okta) under the 'My Finances' tab. Payment due dates will differ if you’re studying ‘non-semester’ topics. |

2020 Honours scholarship: clinical predictive analytics tools using big dataExpressions of interest are sought from individuals looking to do honours within the Precision Medicines Group. The top three candidates will be provided with a living allowance valued between $5,000 and $10,000. Project Title: Providing realistic expectations of medicines used in the treatment of advanced cancer: Development of predictive analytics tools from clinical trial and electronic health record data. Prospective students require an interest in clinical epidemiology, biostatistics, pharmacometrics, R programming and improving cancer care. Read more. |

PhD TOP-UP scholarship for development of predictive analytics tools from big dataThe Precision Medicines Group is offering a top-up scholarship for this project. To be eligible, applicants must successfully acquire a standard PhD scholarship allowing the commencement of a PhD at Flinders University. The group will help candidates apply for PhD scholarships and if successful the top-up will be added to the awarded stipend (i.e. Total PhD living allowance = standard scholarship + top-up). Project Title: Facilitating shared decision making in advanced cancers: Development of predictive analytics tools from clinical trial and electronic health record data. Read more. |
Financial hardship grants openThis financial hardship grant scheme is available for students in their second year and during Semester 2 only.The value of individual grants awarded will be $500. For more information and to fill out the online application form head to the FUSA website. Grant applications close next Friday 16 August. |
New Colombo Plan Mobility Program
Linking Indonesia & Australian Cultures: Professional & Indigenous Study tour23 November to 7 December This study tour is designed to foster students’ Indonesia in-country, cultural understanding and sensibility, together with development of Indo-Pacific workspace competencies. It will to begin to uncover the historic linkages between the Indonesian archipelago and Australian indigenous communities, and aims to develop an understanding of Indonesian electoral processes and build new relationships with the government post-2019 elections. It builds on Flinders long-standing and extensive Indonesia connections and deepens alumni networks. Read more about how you can get involved. |

Indoor soccer carnival The first ever Flinders University Hellenic Association (FUHA) indoor soccer carnival is happening this month. Date: Sunday 18 August | Time: 5.30pm arrival, 6.00pm Start, Awards 8.30pm(ish), 9.00pm finish | Location: Sturt Gym (map ref V6) | Cost: $5 per player, minimum 5 players per team Teams can register through the FUHA Facebook page or use the online registration form. |

Flinders Cup - have you got your team together? The Flinders Cup starts on Tuesday 13 August. This year’s course will start and finish on the south side of the footbridge. Following a similar format from previous years, the event will run for six consecutive weeks and participants can choose to complete either 1, 2 or 3 laps of the 1.4km circuit. To assist in covering cost of the event there is a once off $10 entry fee per person, payable either in person on the day or via eftpos at Flinders University Sport and Fitness (map ref H11) | Register here. |
