Exams what you need to know The Semester 1 exam period runs from 22 June to 6 July. If you have exams, please see below for important information regarding timetables, seating and what you can and cant bring in to the exam room. Timetable. Your personalised exam timetable has been sent to your student email account. You can also see your timetable by logging in here. If you are sitting an exam in the Sturt Gymnasium or the Alan Mitchell Sports Centre, you will be allocated a seat number, which will change for each exam. You will be sent an email at least one week before your exam with your allocated seat number(s). Non-permitted items. Did you know there are certain items you cant take into the exam room? World Environment DayToday is World Environment Day and this years theme is #BeatAirPollution. Did you know that waste is a major contributor to air pollution? Flinders University has recently launched its Sustainability Plan to 2025, which includes ways students and staff can reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill (among other sustainability initiatives). We can all make small changes that, together, will make a massive difference. Study in the Indo-Pacific regionThe New Colombo Plan Scholarship program offers students financial support to continue their studies in one of 40 Indo-Pacific countries, for up to 19 months. Scholarship recipients will gain valuable experience and skills through study, language study, and an internship and/or mentorship in their chosen country. If you are interested, and meet the eligibility criteria, email lwb@flinders.edu.au before 23 June for details on how to nominate. Study psychology in Europe or North AmericaIn January 2020 you could be studying Positive Psychology in Maastricht, Legal Psychology in San Francisco, or Forensic Psychology on Vancouver Island with AIM Overseas. These 3 to 4 week programs are designed to count for credit towards your degree. Eligible students could receive more than $6,700 of Government funding to finance their trip. Learn more. |

Changes to car park 21Additional parks in car park 21 are now available. These parks help balance the portion of car park 12 which is required for construction of the new Flinders Link train line and Flinders Station. The sealed parks in the northern section of car park 12 (towards Sturt Road) remain open. Car parks 12 and 21 are not available for visitor parking. As works continue parking conditions may be subject to change - please observe all signage in the area and take additional care when workers are on site. |

Loop and shuttle bus servicesThe Flinders Living University Hall shuttle now includes an additional collection point at the north-western end of car park 22. This shuttle bus runs continuously to Registry Road approximately every 7 minutes from 6am to 9pm during semester. Flinders Pantry & Caf business as usual through upgradesFurther improvements are currently underway at the Flinders Pantry & Caf at Sturt, in response to student feedback. This includes the creation of a secondary service point to help alleviate queues and reduce waiting times, improved service points, and increased student kitchen facilities. Although there will be some temporary detours and noise during the works, the end result will improve this vibrant social space to better meet student need. Microwaves will be relocated to benches at the northern end of the seating area and a temporary student kitchen will be available in room W108. The project is due for completion by mid-August. |

Then visit the Flinders Art Museum for one of their free 20 minute Lunchbox Lectures about prominent artists. Whats all the MASS about?The Mathematics and Statistics Society (MASS) is a student run group. Their aim is to mentor and support students studying mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, and related topics. They are holding their inaugural Annual General Meeting at 12noon on Friday 7 June at the Flinders Tavern, to appoint roles of their Executive Committee. Student Council vacancies nominations close TOMORROWIf youre passionate about student representation, welfare and rights, then consider nominating for the Student Council. Nominations are now open for Indigenous Student Officer, Mature Age Officer and Disabilities Officer, each to hold office from 19 June to 30 November 2019. Indonesia study tour application deadline extendedUndergraduate and Honours students with an interest in the Indo-Pacific region are invited to apply for one of 50 $3,000 New Colombo Plan Mobility grants to take part in the Linking Indonesian and Australian Cultures: Professional and Indigenous study tour. To be held in Yogyakarta, Makassar and Jakarta, Indonesia from approximately 22 or 23 November to 7 December 2019, the tour will help students develop an understanding of Indonesia and its culture, along with Indo-Pacific workspace competencies.
