Finding Your Way at Flinders is our online orientation topic and is designed to help set you up for success at university by helping you:

get familiar with Flinders and how university works
explore some of the skills you will need to be successful in your studies
learn about some common ‘barriers to success’ students face, and how to overcome them

How to access: From 1 January 2024, you can access the Finding Your Way at Flinders topic on FLO by following the link above and selecting the ‘Enrol in Course’ button.

Finding Your Way at Flinders (FLO)

Finding Your Way at Flinders is a great way to get started with your studies and learn the ropes here at Flinders. You should be able to see the Finding Your Way at Flinders topic by clicking the button above. Once you have self-enrolled in the topic, it will appear in your Courses in FLO.

You can work through the topic modules at your own pace. Check where you’re at using the progress bar along the top of the page. Revisit the topic throughout the year, as you need it.

Flinders Learning Online, commonly referred to as FLO, is your online learning platform. FLO is the main teaching and communication tool for your topics. Each topic you are enrolled in will have its own FLO page, where you will find:

The topic coordinator's contact details
Assignment and assessment information
Lecture recordings
Textbook and reading material requirements
The learning outcomes
Online discussion forums, and much more!

You will be able to access your topic's FLO page one week prior to your topic commencing – simply go to the 'My systems' heading in  Compass, your personalised student website.
