Topic description

In this topic, students will develop their skills in the same studio specialisation as undertaken in VISA2000 Studio Specialisation A.

Students will explore how this field developed historically, and its interconnection with other areas of the visual arts, alongside developing practical and creative skills in their chosen studio area.

Educational aims

This topic aims to provide students with the opportunity to:

  • Develop their skills in their chosen studio area
  • Explore a range of concepts and techniques
  • Explore how works in their chosen studio have developed historically, and how this development has influenced contemporary practice
  • Develop an understanding of the creative process, including the documentation of the development of creative work
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Produce creative works in their chosen studio through experimentation with concepts and processes
  2. Apply design concepts to produce a body of work, and be able to present these both verbally and in writing
  3. Research, document and critically evaluate the design process
  4. Demonstrate safe practice and relevant WH&S procedures
