With society looking to the East, to native spiritualities and to pre-Christian European sources for wisdom, Christian traditions are being neglected. This topic considers the rich heritage of Christian spirituality, its historical development, and its relevance for Christianity today.

analyse a major theme in the history of Christian spirituality, e.g., the influence of Neo-platonism, with a view to interpreting the strengths and weaknesses in our contemporary experience of spirituality
