Topic description

The emphasis of this topic is on the practical application of the theory gained across the program in a block placement within a workplace. This unit will further facilitate students' understanding and application of client management, through practical experience with clients presenting with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties.

Educational aims

This topic aims to further facilitate students' understanding and application of client management, through practical experience with clients presenting with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties. On completion of this practicum, students will have acquired experience with a range of clients. Students will demonstrate Entry Level competency.

Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  4. Undertake routine or familiar aspects of speech pathology services and client management with minimal guidance and supervision of a placement educator
