This topic aims to develop your critical understanding of organisational behaviour and effective participation in organisations. You will explore theories and practices that you can apply to your own participation in organisations and develop some of the core knowledge and skills necessary to perform well as an individual, team member and manager. You will also acquire knowledge of the special challenges faced by public sector managers and develop an understanding of how to improve organisational performance in the public sector. Students who successfully complete this topic will be able to improve the effectiveness of their participation in organisations, identify the characteristics of good management and explain how to improve organisational performance in the public sector. Students who successfully complete this topic will also be able to demonstrate an advanced understanding of key concepts in public management, the special challenges faced by public sector managers and apply theoretical knowledge acquired in the topic to a range of relevant case studies.
