The aim of this topic is to provide occupational therapy students with extended knowledge and skills in the discrete areas of lifespan development, group work and postural control and to prepare them for the entry into the Master of Occupational Therapy.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:
Describe key life stages and the associated occupational performance milestones
Describe the physiology and biopsychosocial elements of pain both acute and chronic
Describe the neurological control of movement and motor learning
Analyse posture and balance
Analyse group dynamics
Present effectively to a large group
Complete preparatory requirements for fieldwork placements in the Master of Occupational Therapy.
