Topic description

This topic focuses on the advanced clinical assessment which is essential in formulating diagnoses and developing patient management plans. The topic focuses on a systems approach to assessment which takes the student from broad anatomy and physiology principles, the assessment skills required for the examination of each body system, and which then focuses on the specific pathophysiology of the student's context of practice. Students will use this knowledge to expand and consolidate assessment skills required for their specialty practice area.
