In this topic students will explore contemporary issues facing the health and wellbeing of children and their families. In particular they will address the nexus between the community, home and hospital. Physiological and pyscho-social development will be critiqued in relation to the prevention and management of chronic conditions. Particular attention will be given to children who experience social and environmental vulnerabilities.
This topic aims for students to develop advanced knowledge in a range of critical issues facing the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families in contemporary society.
