Topic description
This topic enables students to consolidate, synthesise and apply skills, knowledge and professional behaviour, in readiness for the role of the beginning registered nurse.
Educational aims
The aims of this topic are to:

    Enable students to identify and implement strategies to monitor and achieve the skills, knowledge and attitudes directly related to the NMBA Registered Nurse standards for practice and the University's graduate qualities

  • Prepare students to transfer skills from a student of nursing to a professional (Registered Nurse) role

  • Prepare students to actively participate as an interprofessional healthcare team member.
Expected learning outcomes
On successful completion of this topic, students will be expected to be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the skills, knowledge and attitudes required in the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards

  2. Demonstrate they have the required knowledge and skills to be evidence-based practitioners.
