This topic aims to explore the fundamental significance of the city of Alexandria in the establishment of the Western Culture and civilisation. More specifically the topic examines the foundation of the city of Alexandria and its history; the creation of the famous Alexandrian Library and the development of sciences, philosophy, etc, where Greek, Egyptian and Roman cultures interacted and communicated with one another.

This topic aims to provide insights into the establishment and the history of the first metropolis and the first cosmopolitan centre of the world: Alexandria and the impact this had on various areas of learning and religion.
