Mathematics Fundamentals B comprises the final four modules out of the total of eight modules offered between MATH1701 Mathematics Fundamentals A and MATH1702 Mathematics Fundamentals B.
The four modules which students will take in Mathematics Fundamentals B are:
Module 5. Unit Circle, angle addition formulas, double and half angle formulas, trigonometric identities, sine and cosine as functions, graphs of trigonometric equations.
Module 6. Negative and fractional exponents, logarithms, graphs of logs and exponential functions, derivatives of exponential functions.
Module 7. Matrices, solutions to systems of linear equations, matrix multiplication and inverses.
Module 8. Counting, permutations, combinations, sets, binomial theorem, elementary probability.
Students should complete Fundamentals A before enrolling in Fundamentals B, to ensure that they are comfortable with the first four modules.
