Topic description
This topic addresses contemporary issues in health research, theory and practice in relation to four broad areas of health. These are health/wellness, community involvement, health interventions, and health technology. A range of staff members will present advanced seminars in their own areas of expertise and research experience.
Educational aims
The educational aims of this topic are:

  • To cover a broad range of aspects of health research at an advanced level

  • To enhance students’ conceptual and critical thinking skills in relation to contemporary issues and health practice.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of the topic, students will be expected to be able to:

  1. Critically evaluate health-related research

  2. Apply critical thinking skills to contemporary problems in society

  3. Propose future research directions that would contribute improving people’s lives.
