Current and future demands of the health care system require health professionals to train and work interprofessionally. For interprofessional teaching to be successful, clinical educators and facilitators must have the necessary skills and capacity to undertake this complex role.
This topic is designed to assist the educator to facilitate multi-professional and interprofessional student groups. This topic includes educational theory, knowledge, skills, competencies and the self-awareness required to facilitate interprofessional learning.
At the end of this topic the participant will be able to plan and develop interprofessional learning sessions while considering the challenges that surround this emerging role in our changing health care environment.
This topic aims to prepare students for teaching and facilitating interprofessional learning in both clinical and academic settings.
