This topic aims to:
- develop students understanding of effective communication in English
- develop the skills associated with academic and professional contexts
- focus on reading for specific purposes, as well as writing for specific purposes
- develop public speaking skills with the aim of preparing students for Australian tertiary study
Expected learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this topic, students will be able to:
- identify effective academic communication strategies
- evaluate their own level of competence in these skills
- demonstrate they are able to develop academic written texts
