Topic description
Students will be introduced to the methods of assessment and planning in supporting students with problem behaviours in a variety of educational settings.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • examine the issues of assessment in behaviour in contrast to assessment in the academic curriculum
  • gain competence in completing a Functional Behaviour Assessment procedure
  • develop a positive behaviour plan from the outcomes of a Functional Behaviour Assessment
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of the topic students will be able to:

  • explain the methods of assessment and planning for students with behaviour problems
  • complete a Functional Behaviour Assessment procedure
  • develop a positive behaviour plan
