Topic description
This topic provides an opportunity for students to further develop their knowledge and skills in curriculum and pedagogy with particular emphasis on its application in Years 10 - 12. Students will study in a curriculum specialisation that they will teach at Year 12 secondary schooling level.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • synthesise students' understandings associated with senior secondary classroom practices
  • reflect and build on previous curriculum topics and practicum experiences
  • engage with senior secondary syllabus material, curriculum documentation and assessment expectations
Expected learning outcomes
At the completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • synthesise an understanding of theory and practice through the construction of a Unit of Work in their subject specialisation
  • demonstrate their ability to plan and assess for student learning in the senior years of schooling
  • demonstrate an understanding of senior secondary syllabus documents, materials and assessment constructions
