Topic description
The topic will cover advanced topics in research techniques across a range of disciplines including chemistry, physics, nanotechnology, clean technology and forensic science. The modules will cover advanced topics in instrumentation use, theory of techniques, data interpretation and manipulation and overlapping information from different techniques.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- Develop a high level of understanding of the operation and use of complex, advanced instrumentation core to research programs
- Develop a high level understanding of the theory behind the instruments
- Develop advanced levels of data interpretation skills

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
- Have the ability to understand and interpret the data from cutting edge from a variety of sources
- Have the ability to analyse and interpret data from a range of instrumentation, equipment and other sources
