The topic is concerned with the management and security of networks. Areas covered include: cryptography concepts and applications, computer forensics, network threats, security protocols, application of security concepts in specific contexts, attack and defence mechanisms.
Students will gain an understanding of the issues associated with implementing and maintaining network security, and the issues of securing both wired & wireless networks. In addition, it will provide practical experience in both attacking and defending a network, and the fundamentals of cryptography as it applies to network security.
