Topic description
This topic will introduce students to leadership skills and knowledge in sports context. Students will learn various leadership theories and how they apply in sports settings.
Educational aims
This topic aims to prepare students for a career in sports and develop skills and knowledge in sports development, leadership and business management, to prepare them for career in sports industry or other business-related areas.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
- Analyse the systemic governance of sport and the role of the board in managing external relations
- Critically examine the contribution of leadership to effective sport organisations
- Evaluate the actual practice of leadership, applying relevant theories, frameworks and concepts in sports context
