Topic description

In this topic students will learn to be critical practitioners within digital environments that will aid them in their undergraduate study and in future professional contexts. Students will learn to analyse and use a variety of current and emerging technologies (such as social media, smartphones, virtual realities, and artificial intelligence) within the context of shaping their own digital footprint in ethical, responsible, culturally and socially appropriate ways. Attention will also be given to how students shape themselves as globally and locally-aware citizens in digital environments.

Educational aims

This topic aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge to:

  • Become critical practitioners within the digital environments that will aid them in their undergraduate study and future professional contexts
  • Analyse and use a variety of current and emerging technologies
  • Become ethical, responsible, culturally and socially appropriate practitioners
