Minor - Robotics and Computer Vision

To be read in conjunction with the program of study requirements for the Master of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic).

This minor extends the Master of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) to provide study in robotics and computer vision.

Course aims

The minor has been designed to provide graduates with:

• an ability to apply both the theoretical and the practical aspects of robotics and computer vision
  
• an understanding of, and the ability to utilise, the tools and techniques used in robotics and computer vision
  
• an ability to analyse and evaluate information and solve problems

Learning outcomes

On completion students will be able to:

• proficiently use professional skills and knowledge in the systematic development of complex robotic systems
• demonstrate a deeper understanding of robotics and computer vision and its place in the broader discipline of electrical and electronic engineering
• analyse their new robotics and computer vision knowledge in the context of knowledge gained in previous engineering studies
• engage in the process of continuing learning needed to retain the necessary level of professional skills and knowledge in the area of robotics and computer vision
  

Program of study

To qualify for the Minor in Robotics and Computer Vision a student must complete 18 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic, according to the program of study below.

ENGR9771  Robotic Systems GE  (4.5 units)

1. Students should complete all topics in their selected minor. In exceptional circumstances, students may apply to the course coordinator to complete alternative topics where such a selection has a coherent engineering rationale.
