Students who commenced study in the BA prior to 2021 should refer to Associate Degree of Arts - prior to 31 December 2020.
The Associate Degree of Arts requires two years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time).
The Associate Degree of Arts is administered by the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.
The Associate Degree of Arts is offered only as an exit award for students currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts; Bachelor of Arts - conditional entry to Master of Teaching (Primary R-7) and Bachelor of Arts – conditional entry to Master of Teaching (Secondary) who choose not to complete.
The Associate Degree of Arts provides students with a broad range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies from across the University, with a focus on aspects of human culture and achievement. Sequences can be taken within the Colleges of: Education, Psychology and Social Work; Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences; Science and Engineering; and Business, Government and Law.

To qualify for the Associate Degree of Arts, a student must complete 72 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic.
The 72 units must include:
A maximum of 31.5 units may be taken through study at another approved institution.
Majors or Minors Sequences
University accredited languages, taken through cross-institutional studies, including those offered by the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, are also available as majors in the Flinders Bachelor of Arts.
