The Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education is a 72-unit program offered by the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work.
The Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education acknowledges the diverse range of learners in preschools and schools and their entitlement to an equitable and appropriate education, and is designed to prepare educators and other professionals to build research-informed knowledge, skills and understandings that will enable them to implement and lead inclusive processes and practices in their schools and sites.
The Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education offers a wide range of topics to enable students to tailor their studies to suit their particular learning goals and contexts. Students may opt to study a ‘minor’ suite of topics within one (or more) of the listed areas of interest, or they may select their own combination of topics from across the range of Inclusive and Specialised Education topics to complete their study pattern.
The Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education articulates with the Graduate Certificate in Inclusive Education and the Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education.
Applicants must normally hold a degree or equivalent qualification in education, disability studies, psychology, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy or a closely related discipline from an approved tertiary institution.
However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
