A wide range of University, government and non-government scholarships are available to domestic students commencing study in 2019. Selection is normally based on academic merit and demonstrated need.

These bursaries are funded by a donation by Mr Basil Taliangis AM, a Companion of the University and have been established to encourage financially disadvantaged students attending secondary schools in the Adelaide metropolitan area or outer suburbs to undertake a higher education course. Subject to the availability of funds, two bursaries will be awarded annually. The value of each bursary will be $500.

For women, who are Australian citizens or permanent residents, enrolled in a postgraduate Masters degree (by research or including a thesis) at a South Australian university. Selection of winners is based primarily on academic merit. The amount of each scholarship will not exceed $3,000 but may be less depending on requirements of the successful applicant/s, if more than one scholarship is offered based on applicant rankings and funds available.

The bursary has been established to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to undertake a higher education course, specifically in the field of education, including special education. The value of the bursary will be $500. The bursary will be awarded to an undergraduate student on the basis of demonstrated financial need and academic merit, with preference given to a female student.

A generous donation by Ms Fij Miller has enabled the establishment of the Fij Miller Indigenous Bursary. This bursary has been established to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to undertake higher education study. Subject to the availability of funds, one bursary will be awarded annually. The value of the bursary will be a minimum $1000. Applicants for the bursary must: (a) be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; and identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; and be accepted as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander by the community in which he or she lives or has lived; and (b) be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate course of study at Flinders University.

The University has established the Flinders University Student Access Scholarships to provide financial support students from low SES backgrounds who are commencing their first year of undergraduate study at Flinders University. Subject to the availability of funds, scholarships will be available for the first year of study at Flinders University and will be worth $5,000.

The Commonwealth government and Flinders University have established the Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (ICAS) to assist indigenous students with accommodation and/or relocation costs associated with their study at Flinders University.
The number of ICAS available each year will be determined by annual funding from the Commonwealth government. In 2018 each scholarship was valued at $5355 per annum.

The Commonwealth government and Flinders University have established the Indigenous Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship (ICECS) to assist indigenous students with costs associated with their study at Flinders University.
The number of ICAS available each year will be determined by annual funding from the Commonwealth government. In 2018 each scholarship was valued at $2676. The 2019 value is yet to be determined.

The Lesley Shorne Memorial Scholarship was established in 2011. The Scholarship will recognise and support a mature age woman commencing a Doctor of Medicine in a Commonwealth supported place at Flinders University. The Scholarship aims to support a woman who has a demonstrated commitment to improving the well-being of women through their involvement as a volunteer, through work or study in the areas of Health, Education Safety, Social Justice, Poverty or Advocacy. The successful Lesley Shorne Scholar will receive $750 annually for up to 4 years

Executive Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Flinders University, has a special interest in furthering the education and training of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as health professionals.
The Professor Michael Kidd AM Scholarship has been established in perpetuity to support the retention and successful graduation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students as health professionals.

The purpose of the Research Preparation Scholarship for Indigenous Students is to support an indigenous student for one year, while undertaking a program of study that will, on completion, qualify them for admission to a research higher degree. Such studies may include; honours study; post graduate course work; research projects; bridging programs, or other studies needed in order for the applicant to qualify them in principle for a research higher degree program. The successful awardee will able to demonstrate academic potential and explain how their education has been compromised by the lack of suitable educational pathways or how financial harship may have hindered academi potential.

The Rotary Club of the Barossa Valley Foundation Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students. Subject to available funding, one new scholarship with a value of $3,000 will be offered each year.

Wyndham Richardson Scholarship Fund (WRSF) is able to to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students residing in University Hall or the Deirdre Jordan Village. Subject to the availability of funds, four scholarships will be awarded annually. The value of each scholarship will be up to $2500 which will be credited to the recipient's Accommodation Fee account at Flinders Living.

Selection of winners is based primarily on academic merit, but also on the importance of the purpose for which the scholarship will be used to the progress or completion of the degree, on financial need as well as community activities and other interests. The amount of the scholarship will not exceed $2,500 but may be less depending on the requirements of the successful applicant. A scholarship may be shared by two successful applicants.

The Aboriginal Health Scholarship Program, in partnership with Australian Rotary Health, aims to increase the number of professionally qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people working in the South Australian health sector.
Each year, the Department for Health and Ageing awards scholarships to eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on behalf of the Minister for Health. The program supports students studying towards a health qualification at a degree level (or higher) in areas such as, but not limited to:

Applications are now open for the Flinders University Student Impact Scholarships which were established through the kind generosity of alumni and friends who made a donation to the Scholarship Fund. These scholarships are for continuing domestic coursework students who have completed at least 36 units of study at Flinders University and are worth $5000 per annum for one year. Applications should be submitted through the Student System by the closing date of 13 March 2019.
