Drop in for free food, support and advice tomorrow Sometimes the pressures of study, finances and other areas of life can become stressful. Attend the Drop In Not Out event tomorrow in the Bedford Park Plaza, to grab a free hot dog and speak with Flinders staff about the financial, administrative, academic and welfare support services the University provides to help you manage these pressures. The Semester 1 census date is Friday 5 AprilThe census date is the last day you can withdraw from topics without incurring student contribution amounts (for Commonwealth supported students), tuition fees (for fee-paying students) and student services and amenities fees. If you withdraw from any Semester 1 topics after next Friday, you will still be charged the relevant course fees and the course(s) will be recorded on your academic record. |

Your questions answeredEver wanted to ask the Vice-Chancellor or Deputy Vice-Chancellor (students) a question about an issue that is important to you? Students had the opportunity to ask their questions at the Student Town Hall forum on Wednesday 13 March. A video of the forum along with a full summary of answers to questions asked online and face-to-face is available on the current students’ website. |

Flinders lunchtime concerts return – all welcomeThe Flinders Lunchtime Concerts are returning in 2019! First up, hear from pianist Mekhla Kumar: A prize-winning solo artist and chamber musician, in the Noel Stockdale Room in the Central Library (J9 map reference) on 3 April at 1.05pm. $5 entry donation.

$10 physio appointmentsFrom next Monday, a new physiotherapy student clinic will open at Flinders University offering $10 appointments to staff, students and the broader community. The clinic will be staffed by students of the Master of Physiotherapy Program and supervised by expert Flinders University physiotherapy team staff. Interest free student loansAre you experiencing financial difficulty? Students enrolled at Flinders can apply for a FUSA loan worth of up to $500 to help make financial ends meet. Repayments are $25 per fortnight and can be used for anything relevant to your study. See FUSA’s financial advocacy page for more information about how the team can help you manage financial difficulties. |
Improve mental health and wellbeing with free online programIn partnership with the SAHMRI Wellbeing and Resilience Centre, EPSW is providing students access to an interactive wellbeing and resilience resource called Complete Mental Health. Through this free web-based resource, you can access personalised tips and techniques to build and improve your mental health and wellbeing. (All collected personal information and responses will be de-identified and is completely confidential). Keep an eye on your Flinders student email tomorrow for a link to the program. |

Meet the Engineering StudentFirst year Engineering and IT students are invited to Meet the Engineering Student - an informal Q&A session featuring a panel of five Flinders students in their second to last year, or postgraduate level of study. The students will share their experience at Flinders University and how they used the University support services to help them succeed, allowing time for you to ask any questions. Free drumming workshopsFeeling stressed? Come along and join this free activity for students in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Workshops are held each Tuesday from 4pm to 5pm in the Pendopo (ref. G6 on the map) throughout Semester 1 with renowned local percussionist Ryszard Pusz. Study support servicesNeed help with your studies? Studiosity is a free online resource available 24/7 to help you with your study and writing skills. You can access Studiosity via your Okta dashboard.
The Student Learning Centre (SLC) also provides an learning support drop-in-centre (Learning Lounge on level 2 of the Central Library), as well as a range of study guides to help you with your studies. There are guides on: academic writing, referencing, editing and proofreading, English language and general study skills, as well as mathematics including statistics, arithmetic and equations.
