As a holder of a student visa, you (and your dependent family members), are entitled to work in Australia.

Please be aware that you can work unlimited hours between the university-advertised semesters – that is between the official end date of the semester (including examination period) and the start of the new semester and during the university-advertised mid-semester breaks. View the semester dates.
You cannot work unlimited hours if you have study commitments during official vacation periods. If you are enrolled in a non-semester topic during the university-advertised breaks then the standard 40 hours per fortnight work limitation applies.
For detailed information, please visit the Department of Home Affairs' website.
Please note, the University does not issue letters confirming dates of official breaks and your or your dependant’s work rights. Registered employers and labour supply companies are able to check the work entitlements of a prospective employee by accessing the Department of Home Affairs' Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) facility. Please refer your employer to the University website for viewing university advertised breaks and to VEVO regarding your work rights.
Alternatively, international students may download a copy of our “Working while studying – student declaration form” that provides information about the Department of Home Affairs’ Student Visa Work conditions and Flinders University’s semester dates. International students may complete the form, sign and submit it to their employer when applying for employment. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they are always compliant with their visa conditions.
Please note that the Australian Government has announced a temporary relaxation of work conditions for some student visa holders, in response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. For further information please go to the "Current Student Visa Conditions" paragraph on the Department of Home Affairs' website
