A three-week program (Week -1 to Week 1) designed to provide commencing students with essential information and guidance for a successful start to their studies. It covers timely advice and actions that students should complete before commencing their academic journey, whilst emphasising the importance of active engagement with the university. Success at Flinders is about guidance on study preparation, university expectations, enrolment-related administrative tasks, and compliance with university and government regulations.
International Student Services invites government organisations and not-for-profit institutions to deliver presentations on campus to inform students on the current trends and issues that may enhance their study experience, personal development, and post-study preparations. In recent semesters, the Department of Home Affairs, Australian Border Force, Department of State Development, and StudyAdelaide have presented topics on post-study visa options, Australian biosecurit,y and work rights and social initiatives for international students.
The Study Bootcamp is designed to support commencing international students who require study skills preparation for studies at Flinders and general support for current students. Delivered during the mid-semester break, the boot camp is a collaboration led by ISS together with the Student Learning Support Services and the Library.
Welcome events run at the start of each semester and include information booths, opportunities to join cultural clubs, BBQ lunches, performances, and fun activations. Most importantly, you can connect with fellow international students and meet the Flinders International team, who’ll be there to support you throughout your studies.
The International Student Services team hosts "lunch and chat" sessions, centered around culture, cuisine, and connection. These gatherings offer a welcoming space to bond with peers and share your experiences as a student all while enjoying a delicious shared lunch at Flinders City Campus.
Looking to unwind, make friends, and enjoy some great vibes? ISS has you covered all year round! Whether it’s Soccer & BBQ meetups, morning teas, cultural celebrations like Lunar New Year, or wellness events, there’s always something exciting happening.
International Student Services organises a range of day and overnight trips to popular South Australian destinations, including the Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, Fleurieu Peninsula, and Kangaroo Island
