What better way to kickstart your student experience by getting to know Flinders and your fellow students?
All new international students are expected to take part in orientation activities to familiarise themselves with the academic system at Flinders and to learn more about the new environment and culture.
Students who know how to access University systems, services and find their way around their campus are on the way to success!
Here are the 4 steps to get orientated:
This compulsory session is for all international students (except Australia Awards scholarship holders who need to attend the Introductory Academic Program). Whether you are studying in Australia or from your home country, you must complete this online FISO. It covers information on enrolment, University environment, University support services, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), university policies and important government regulations relating to your stay in Australia. Please visit the ISS Canvas topic once you have received more information with the Welcome email from International Student Services to complete your FISO.
Introductory Academic Program (IAP) for Australia Awards recipients
If you are the recipient of an Australia Awards scholarship, you must attend a compulsory five-week orientation program called Introductory Academic Program (IAP) instead of the FISO. For further assistance, please contact the Australia Awards team at Flinders: australia.awards@flinders.edu.au
There may be course/college-specific orientation related to your degree that you must attend.
For more information, please visit the O'Week website which will also provide you with information about University-wide activities.
International Student Services organises a range of tours and trips and sends relevant information to your Flinders email.
More information about activities organised by International Student Services can be found on the international student activities page.
